The garden was built in 2018, providing a place for community members to receive locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Why is gardening important?

Having a garden is important in order to supply immigrants and low-income community members with fresh and healthy resources. Fruits and vegetables from the garden provide countless health benefits, vitamins, and minerals, that we need in order to survive and thrive. Gardening also allows us to grow culture plants that we may not be able to find at supermarkets around us.

Why knowing what you eat is important?

Knowing all of the things that you are putting into your body is important to have a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Having a balanced diet can help you reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of chronic disease, and boost your energy level.

Grains- Grains are important sources of many nutrients, including fiber, B vitamins, and minerals. People who eat whole grains as part of a healthy diet have a reduced risk of some chronic diseases.
